New Zealand alternative artist Will Swinton has returned with “Hate My Guts,” a vulnerable post-breakup anthem released through 10K Projects and Capitol Records.

Built around lonesome guitar, ticking drums, and Swinton’s weathered vocal delivery, the track finds him taking accountability for a relationship’s collapse while asking his former partner for forgiveness. Rather than pleading for another chance, he admits his mistakes and hopes the hurt does not turn into lasting resentment.

Swinton wrote “Hate My Guts” alongside Nick Lopez and producer Joe Reeves. The release continues the emotionally charged alternative-rock direction introduced through recent singles “Only One,” “Better Off,” and “Find a Way,” expanding on the acoustic foundation of his breakout December EP with a fuller and more cinematic band sound.

The rising artist is also preparing to take the new material on the road. The Will Swinton & Band North American Tour begins August 2 at Lollapalooza in Chicago and concludes August 26 at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn.

The tour announcement follows a run of major career moments for Swinton, including supporting mgk on the Australian leg of the lost americana tour, making his Paris Fashion Week runway debut for 424, and receiving public support from Kelly Clarkson, who covered his song “Flames” on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Already a fixture on New Zealand’s Hot 20 Singles Chart, Swinton continues to build international momentum with a sound rooted in raw songwriting, alternative rock, and emotionally direct performances.
