Brandon Wisham Announces Ain’t What It Looks Like EP and Shares Title Track
Brandon Wisham is stepping into a major new chapter with the announcement of his debut EP, Ain’t What It Looks Like. The 11-song project is due August 21 via The Core Records/Capitol Records, arriving just days before the rising country singer-songwriter makes his Grand Ole Opry debut on August 26.

Brandon Wisham announces his debut Ain’t What It Looks Like EP, out August 21 via The Core Records/Capitol Records.
A Raw and Revealing Title Track
Alongside the EP announcement, Wisham released the project’s title track, “Ain’t What It Looks Like.” The song introduces the emotional core of the record, pulling from themes of mental health, grief, resilience, and the difficult, nonlinear process of healing.
Across the EP, the South Carolina-bred artist turns lived experience into songs marked by hard-won honesty, soulful vocal power, and a fiercely hopeful spirit. The project also includes recent singles such as “Other Side of Lonely,” “Tears In Her Tequila,” “Growin’ Up,” “Whiskey’s Whisperin’,” and more.

Healing in Real Time
Wisham says the consistent theme across the EP is mental health. For him, the title track digs into the contrast between what life can look like from the outside and what someone may be struggling with every day. That honesty gives Ain’t What It Looks Like its emotional weight.
It’s real, raw, honest truth.
He also describes healing as a process that does not move in a straight line, with progress sometimes followed by days that feel like backpedaling. That perspective shapes the EP as a message for listeners working through their own pain one day at a time.
A Fast-Rising Country Breakout
Wisham has been building momentum throughout 2026, earning placement on Pandora’s Country Artists to Watch list and recognition as a SiriusXM The Highway “Highway Find.” He also made his Stagecoach debut, returned to CMA Fest, and performed a two-night stand at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium while supporting Nate Smith.
He has also shared stages with Bailey Zimmerman, Tyler Hubbard, Lakeview, Austin Snell, and more, continuing to establish himself as one of country music’s most promising young voices.
Grand Ole Opry Debut Ahead
Just five days after the EP’s release, Wisham will step into the circle for the first time at the Grand Ole Opry on August 26. The moment lands as both a personal milestone and a career marker for the Nashville-based artist.
Ain’t What It Looks Like features 11 songs, including “Nothin’ Left To Burn,” “Ain’t What It Looks Like,” “Growin’ Up,” “Other Side of Lonely,” “Whiskey’s Whisperin’,” “Good Grief,” “I Hope It Rains,” “Tears In Her Tequila,” “Back Together,” “She’s Good,” and “Better Than The Day.”
With Ain’t What It Looks Like, Brandon Wisham turns vulnerability into a country project built on resilience, truth, and the kind of lived-in storytelling that cuts through cleanly.
