About The Boy Who Played the Harp
Across its 10 tracks, The Boy Who Played the Harp showcases Dave at his most refined and ambitious. The album features a standout lineup of collaborators, including GRAMMY Award–winning artist Tems on “Raindance,” UK rap icon Kano on “Chapter 16,” rising star Jim Legxacy on “No Weapons,” and a reunion with longtime collaborator James Blake on “History & Selfish.”
A producer in his own right, Dave produces or co-produces nine of the album’s ten tracks, continuing the creative control he established with Psychodrama. Longtime fans are also treated to “My 27th Birthday,” the third installment in his fan-favorite birthday freestyle series that began with “My 19th Birthday.”
The album marks Dave’s first full-length release since 2023’s record-breaking “Sprinter” with Central Cee, which became the longest-running No. 1 rap song in UK chart history. Just days after release, The Boy Who Played the Harp debuted at No. 1 in the UK, making Dave the first British rapper to debut three albums at the top of the charts and securing one of the biggest opening weeks for a British album this year.
