Empire of the Sun are inviting fans into an entirely new realm of imagination with Chrysalis, a three-day destination music festival and immersive experience happening May 14–16, 2026 at Iskali Gardens, located at Hotel El Ganzo in San José del Cabo, Baja California.

A New World Brought to Life
Created in partnership with 100x Hospitality, Chrysalis is more than a festival — it’s a living universe. Across three days and nights, fans will embark on a sensory journey where music, art, light, and nature converge. Empire of the Sun will perform three exclusive shows — one each night — complemented by a curated lineup of international artists soon to be announced.
The festival is designed as a series of portals, guiding attendees through open-air stages, sculpted gardens, forest paths, and hidden art installations. Each realm reflects the themes central to Empire of the Sun’s world: rebirth, love, and ascension.
Let Yourself Be Carried Away.

A Vision of Imagination & Transformation
Following the success of their Ask That God World Tour, the band has been building anticipation with mysterious visual teasers — from robed riders on horseback to a red-carpeted door on a beach — sparking widespread speculation among fans.
Frontman Luke Steele offers insight into the meaning behind Chrysalis:
“Chrysalis is about imagination and rebirth. It’s designed to be spirit-immersive — a place where people leave transformed. The festival centers on a circle of symbols: the door, the egg, the key, the wings, and the bell. The Door is the threshold. The Key is the revelation. The Bell is awakening. The Wings represent the future self. The Egg is the beginning. It’s about creating a journey through music, art, and spirit. In a world overflowing with distortion, it’s time to let yourself be carried away.”
A full visual invitation to the Chrysalis experience has now been released — offering a glimpse into what awaits attendees.
