Lewis Capaldi is officially back—and he’s returned with some of the most vulnerable music of his career. Today, the global superstar released his new EP Survive, along with what may be his most gut-wrenching track to date: “The Day That I Die.”

The EP lands on the heels of Capaldi’s hugely praised return to the stage after nearly two years away, and the emotional weight behind it is unmistakable. “The Day That I Die,” which debuted live during his recent tour, instantly became a standout moment—often moving both Capaldi and his audience to tears. Written during a time when the singer admits he “didn’t think [he] would be here anymore,” the song is a raw portrait of pain, captured with the honesty only Capaldi can deliver.

With lyrics like, “On the day that I die, tell my mother I was smiling ‘cause I know that she’ll be crying,” the track underscores the emotional depth that has defined Capaldi’s music from the very beginning.

A Year of Powerful Singles Comes Together

The Survive EP gathers all four tracks Capaldi has released this year:

  1. “Survive” — a bold, triumphant anthem marking his return

  2. “Something In The Heavens” — his 10th UK Top 10 hit

  3. “Almost” — a cathartic post-breakup ballad

  4. “The Day That I Die” — his most personal release yet

Each song reflects a different facet of his journey through struggle, recovery, and resilience.

A Massive North American Tour in 2026

Capaldi is gearing up for his biggest North American headline tour yet, kicking off April 15, 2026, in Philadelphia. The run includes major, already sold-out stops such as:

  • Madison Square Garden (New York)

  • MGM Music Hall – two nights (Boston)

  • Red Rocks Amphitheatre – two nights (Denver)

  • Hollywood Bowl (Los Angeles)

Fans can find the full itinerary and tickets online.

Huge UK & Ireland Dates Announced

Next summer, Capaldi will also take on his largest UK and Ireland shows, starting June 24, 2026, at Dublin’s Marlay Park. The run includes two massive nights at BST Hyde Park and a string of major festival headlining sets including Isle of Wight, Latitude, and TRNSMT.

Earlier this year, he wrapped a sold-out 17-date UK arena tour, earning glowing four- and five-star reviews from outlets like Rolling Stone and The Guardian.

A Triumphant Comeback Story

Capaldi’s resurgence is powered in part by his hit single “Survive,” which became the UK’s fastest-selling single of the year and his sixth No. 1. The song has taken him across major TV stages—from Good Morning America to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon—and earned widespread acclaim.

His highly emotional return to Glastonbury this year cemented his comeback moment. Critics called his performance one of the weekend’s most powerful, with Rolling Stone describing the song as “an empowering, emotional ballad.”

Before stepping back onto the big stage, Capaldi quietly played intimate Scotland shows in partnership with mental health charity CALM for Mental Health Awareness Week. These concerts helped him reconnect with performing at his own pace—no pressure, no expectations.

Now, with his heart firmly back in the music and his confidence renewed, Lewis Capaldi steps into this new chapter stronger, grounded, and fully honest about the road he’s walked.
