Brandon Wisham Confronts Grief on Debut EP Ain’t What It Looks Like
Brandon Wisham is turning grief, heartbreak, and hard-won healing into song with his debut EP, Ain’t What It Looks Like, out now via The Core Records and Capitol Records. The 11-song collection arrives just five days before Wisham makes his Grand Ole Opry debut on August 26.

An 11-Song Collection About Moving Forward
The EP opens with focus track “Nothin’ Left To Burn,” setting the emotional stakes for a project centered on lived experience, soulful vocal power, and a fiercely hopeful spirit. Across songs like “Other Side of Lonely,” “Tears In Her Tequila,” “Growin’ Up,” and “Whiskey’s Whisperin’,” Wisham leans into grief without losing sight of resilience.

Rooted in Personal Loss
Wisham began writing songs after losing his father to COVID-19. That loss became the starting point for “Pain Won’t Last,” later recorded by Bailey Zimmerman, and helped shape the direct emotional honesty that runs through Ain’t What It Looks Like.
Grand Ole Opry Debut and Tour Dates
Wisham will make his Grand Ole Opry debut in Nashville on August 26, a milestone recently announced by Tyler Hubbard. He will also play Fairview Park Campground in Casey, Illinois on September 5 before headline dates in Charlotte and Decatur in October.
