Empire of the Sun are officially returning to North America — and this time they’re going bigger than ever.

Following their sold-out Ask That God 2025 world tour, the iconic electro-pop duo are launching their largest North American run yet with Ask That God: Afterlife 2026, a reimagined live show that continues the surreal universe introduced on their latest album. If the last chapter saw the Emperor searching for redemption, this next phase invites fans to step deeper into the story — one filled with imagination, transformation, and connection.

The new tour acts as the final installment of the Ask That God journey, expanding the narrative fans experienced on the album and turning it into a fully immersive live spectacle. As always with Empire of the Sun, the show isn’t just about music — it’s about stepping into a world where visuals, storytelling, and sound collide.

Promoted by Live Nation, the 30+ date tour kicks off August 11 at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado before traveling across the U.S. and Canada. New York fans will get two chances to experience the spectacle with shows at Forest Hills Stadium on August 29 and Northwell at Jones Beach Theater on August 30. The tour wraps up October 9 in Las Vegas at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Joining them across the tour are French electronic duo Polo & Pan and rising electro-funk band Midnight Generation, making the lineup a full night of vibrant, dance-ready energy.

Before the headline dates begin, Empire of the Sun will warm things up with festival appearances at Osheaga in Montreal, Up in the Sky in Aspen, and Outside Lands in San Francisco.

A New Chapter in the Empire Universe

The announcement was teased earlier with a cryptic image of frontman Luke Steele featuring the words “AFTERLIFE 26” written across his chest — hinting that something new was on the horizon. For Steele, this era represents a major turning point. “It feels like a very pivotal time,” he says. “We have a new song to sing and a new doorway to step through. The world is changing — it feels like a revolution. We have to unite. Love is the power weapon.”

At the heart of the show is the Emperor character guiding fans through shifting landscapes of sound and imagery. The live experience becomes a space where creativity, imagination, and human connection take center stage — something the band believes is more important than ever in a rapidly changing world. Steele describes the upcoming run as a journey into the unknown. “Ask That God: Afterlife feels like a tour of possibilities — new visions, fragile breakthroughs, and moments we’ve never experienced before. We can’t wait to take this music to new frontiers. Let’s break barriers together.”

The Momentum Behind Ask That God

The tour builds on the success of 2024’s Ask That God, which debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top Dance Albums chart, marking the band’s fourth studio album to land in the chart’s Top 10. Critics praised the record for its optimistic message and immersive production, with outlets describing it as both spiritually reflective and sonically adventurous.

Empire of the Sun’s momentum has only grown since then. Their 2025 global tour spanned more than 22 countries, including appearances at major festivals and shows attended by over 220,000 fans worldwide.

Their live performances have become legendary for their theatrical scale. One critic described the experience as turning a festival into “a neon daydream — equal parts mystic ritual and Tumblr-era revival.” Another summed it up simply: an Empire of the Sun show feels like stepping into another world. With Ask That God: Afterlife, the band looks ready to push that world even further.

How to Get Tickets

Fans can sign up for the Empire of the Sun Artist Presale by registering before March 15 at 11:59 PM PT. The presale begins March 17 at 10 AM local time, with general ticket sales opening March 20 at 10 AM local time.

If the band’s past tours are any indication, tickets will move quickly — and with the scale of this new show, Afterlife 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most visually ambitious electronic tours of the year.

For fans ready to step back into the Empire’s universe, the journey continues this summer.
