Ice Spice is having a moment that extends far beyond music charts. The four-time GRAMMY nominee and Bronx native is currently at the center of a full-blown pop culture takeover, driven by her infectious new single “Big Guy.” Created specifically for The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants, the track has become one of the biggest viral songs on the internet right now.

Since its release, “Big Guy” has generated over 4.1 billion views across nearly 5 million TikTok videos, climbing to No. 2 on TikTok’s Trending Songs chart. The momentum does not stop there: the song has also hit No. 1 on YouTube’s Daily Top Videos, YouTube Shorts’ Weekly Top Songs, and Snapchat’s Sounds Chart, pulling in an estimated 13 million global streams per week.
The song dropped ahead of the film’s theatrical release from Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies, alongside a playful video that places Ice Spice inside SpongeBob’s undersea universe. In addition to contributing the song, Ice also makes her voice-acting debut in the film, portraying a character inspired by her signature look and persona.
That same playful energy has translated seamlessly to TikTok. The viral dance trend, created by Louis Da Silva, began as a solo flex set to the lyric “SpongeBob, big guy, pants okay.” It has since evolved into a popular two-person version where a second participant hides behind the main dancer, extending their arms to create exaggerated “muscle” illusions. The trend has drawn participation from celebrities like Mario Lopez and even Ice Spice herself, further amplifying its reach.
“Big Guy” arrives during a period of sustained growth for Ice. Her recent single “Thootie” featuring Tokischa earned praise from Rolling Stone and was named Song of the Week on Popcast, where critic Jon Caramanica highlighted Ice’s “minimalist swagger” and pointed to “Big Guy” as the start of a new, dominant chapter in her career. Prior to that, “Baddie Baddie” showcased her fashion-forward edge, complete with visuals pulled from her standout appearances at Paris Fashion Week.
Throughout 2025, Ice has continued to expand her reach with high-profile collaborations, including “Gnarly (Ice Spice Remix)” with KATSEYE and “GYATT” with Latto. These releases built on the success of Y2K!: I’m Just A Girl (Deluxe) and her official debut album Y2K!, which featured fan favorites like the Sean Paul-sampling “Gimmie A Light” and “Think U The Shit (Fart),” her highest-charting solo single to date on the Billboard Hot 100. The album earned widespread acclaim, with Pitchfork praising its bold energy and distinctive sound.
“Big Guy” is also the latest chapter in Ice Spice’s growing presence in film. After contributing “Barbie World” to the GRAMMY-winning Barbie The Album and making her acting debut in Highest 2 Lowest alongside Denzel Washington and A$AP Rocky, Ice heads into 2026 positioned as a true multi-hyphenate force.
From viral dances to film soundtracks and chart-climbing releases, Ice Spice’s rise shows no signs of slowing. “Big Guy” is not just a moment—it is a statement of where she is headed next.
