South London’s own LeoStayTrill is wasting no time in 2026. The 18-year-old rap prodigy returns with “Active,” a tightly wound, percussion-forward track that shows just how locked-in he is right now. Refined and restrained, the record lets Leo’s voice work like another instrument, snapping into the beat with precision and purpose. It’s a reminder that his instincts as a producer are just as sharp as his pen.

The release lands fresh off the heels of “Blessing,” his earlier January drop and first new music since last November’s Last Quarter EP. That project peeled back the layers, revealing a more vulnerable side of Leo while expanding his Afro-Drill palette. With “Blessing,” he leaned into an anthemic, almost choral sound — and it paid off, opening up a new sonic lane that’s clearly resonating.
Recognition continues to follow. Just last week, Leo picked up another MOBO nomination, this time for Best Drill Act, adding to a rapidly growing list of accolades.
With co-signs from Dave and Ed Sheeran, two EPs released in just eight months, and numbers that keep climbing, Leo’s trajectory feels limitless. Drawing inspiration from sounds across the globe, he’s crafting music that connects internationally while staying grounded in his own taste and perspective.
That balance has already delivered standout moments. Home Alone followed the breakout “Hands on Knees” featuring K-Trap, which racked up over six million teaser views and sparked thousands of fan-made videos. Add a show-stealing appearance at Our Homecoming in Nigeria and a combined 2.1 million followers across Instagram and TikTok, and it’s clear Leo isn’t just buzzing — he’s established. His June Home Alone tour sold out stops in Manchester, Birmingham, and London.
Late 2024 marked another milestone: his first-ever sold-out headline show at The Camden Assembly, where surprise appearances from ArrDee and Tion Wayne sent the crowd into overdrive. With more than 140 million Spotify streams, two MOBO nominations (Best Newcomer and Song of the Year), and a major O2 Arena support slot alongside Asake, Leo’s résumé already reads like that of a veteran.
The past 18 months have been a whirlwind. “Honeybun,” his second-ever single, quietly crossed six million streams with its slick wordplay and metallic bounce. Then came “Pink Lemonade,” a freestyle that exploded into his biggest viral moment yet, dominating social feeds all summer and pushing him into global view.
And he hasn’t slowed down since. In under a year, Leo dropped collaborations like “Cardi” with 163Margs, “Demure” with ArrDee, and the freestyle “Lost in Sardinia,” before popping up on Crazy Love by MJ Cole — one of the year’s biggest rap records.
With “Active,” LeoStayTrill isn’t just keeping pace — he’s setting it.
