Country music’s rising star Baylee Lynn is back with a brand-new single, and this one hits right in the feels. Her latest track, “That’s What I’ll Be,” is a tender, piano-driven ballad that showcases her powerhouse vocals and signature emotional depth.

The single arrives with a stunning video — and it’s also set to appear on the soundtrack for season two of Nobody Wants This, dropping October 23 via The Core Records in partnership with Interscope Records.

A Song About Showing Up for the People You Love

Baylee co-wrote the song with Jenna Shuffler, AJ Pruis, and Mia Mantia. At just 17, she delivers a message that’s as universal as it is heartfelt — reminding listeners that sometimes the most powerful thing you can offer someone is your presence.

“When you’re going through a hard time, sometimes all you need to help you through is to hear that everything’s going to be okay,” Baylee says. “One of the things I love most about the lyrics is that they could be for anyone — a friend, a family member, a romantic partner, or anyone else you really care about.”

Produced by GRAMMY-nominated AJ Pruis (known for work with Megan Moroney and Maddie & Tae), the track blends soft acoustic guitar and delicate piano melodies with Baylee’s warm, soaring vocals. The chorus — “If your head’s underwater, I’ll be your float / If you’re feeling lost, I’ll be your north star home…” — is destined to be a fan favorite.

A Visually Striking Video

Directed by ashtronot, the video mirrors the song’s quiet strength and emotional pull. Shot at night in a cabin deep in the woods, it uses shadows and soft light to spotlight Baylee’s raw, vulnerable performance. It’s a simple yet powerful visual that lets the lyrics shine.

From Church Choir to National Spotlight

Baylee Lynn is part of a star-studded lineup on the upcoming Nobody Wants This soundtrack, which also features Ella Langley, Kacey Musgraves, and her labelmates Just Jayne.

The Tennessee native has been making waves since dropping her debut single “Cautiously Optimistic” just a couple of months ago — earning praise from Billboard for its nostalgic country-pop flair reminiscent of Faith Hill and The Chicks.

She’s since followed it up with songs like “John, Dear” and the empowering “Heart On My Sleeve,” proving she’s one to watch in country music.

A Bright Future Ahead

Baylee’s journey started in church, where she first learned to sing. She taught herself guitar at just six years old, wrote her first song at 13, and now calls Nashville home. Inspired by icons like Dolly Parton and Faith Hill, she’s carving out a lane of her own — blending classic country warmth with a fresh, youthful perspective.

With more music on the horizon and a growing fanbase, Baylee Lynn is just getting started.
