Building Momentum
This tour announcement comes on the heels of Lexa’s breakout festival season. From Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party to London’s Jazz Café Festival (where CLASH praised her for having the crowd “in the palm of her hand”), she’s been steadily winning over fans city by city. Earlier this summer, she even surprised NYC with a free pop-up show that drew 300+ people.
New Music
The tour will spotlight music from her upcoming album, including her latest single “Past It.” Produced by Emilie Haynie (Lana Del Rey, Kid Cudi, FKA Twigs), the track earned a feature in Billboard’s “R&B/Hip-Hop Fresh Picks of the Week,” who called Lexa “one of the refreshing faces of rap’s next generation.”
Earlier this year, she also dropped “Latency,” a hypnotic piano-driven track produced by Jasper Harris and Aaron Shadrow. Since release, it’s racked up nearly 1 million streams and nods from Rolling Stone, VIBE, Pigeons & Planes, and more.
Lexa’s Big 2025
This year alone, Lexa has:
Starred in a KITH campaign alongside Fabolous and Jadakiss
Wrapped her first sold-out headline tour
Been named Billboard’s “Rookie of the Month”
Performed a stunning Amy Winehouse cover for Apple Music
She’s also stacked co-signs from heavyweights like SZA, Aminé, and Isaiah Rashad, plus “Artist to Watch” nods from People, Billboard, and Hypebeast.
From Elite Vessel to I Am
Lexa’s 2024 debut album Elite Vessel — praised by Rolling Stone as an “Artist You Need to Know” pick and by Complex as “one of the best under-the-radar rap albums of 2024” — set the tone for her unique mix of vulnerability and swagger.
Now, with I Am, she’s channeling influences like Fiona Apple, Amy Winehouse, and Lana Del Rey, blending slick rhymes with siren-like vocals that explore love, obsession, and self-identity. As Billboard put it, she’s “one of the can’t-miss emerging artists coming out of NYC.”
Whether you’ve been following since Elite Vessel or just caught her viral 10-hour art installation last year, one thing’s clear: Lexa Gates is just getting started.
